Web Projects
I have been building websites for fun and profit since around 1999. Since then many have come and gone, hopefully more will follow. I am sitting on about 10 domain names and have way more ideas than time. Here are a few sites that I did manage to get launched however.
Startbackpacking.com is the product of hundreds of emails I received asking questions about
vagabonding and budget travel, mostly from readers of my blog. I launched the site to help people feel the exhilaration and satisfaction that life really does have to offer. It won't make me rich, but the "thank you" emails I receive from visitors is reward enough!
The
Thailand tips page was so popular on Startbackpacking.com that I decided to explode it into its own site. This is my first stab at a Wordpress
site (as if the world needed another one) but it turned out decent and I loaded it with ground level tips and
Thailand Travel Advice for backpackers.
After traveling in Western China and seeing the oppression and mistreatment that these people have been through, I wanted to create a site to
help Tibet in any way that I could. I launched
PeaceBookings.com to help raise awareness and funds for AVAAZ.org by taking the commissions that I normally receive through affiliate links and giving them to charity at the end of the year.
Although it isn't hosted on my own site (yet), I still pump a lot of time and effort into my published travel blog "
Vagabonding Life It is full of misspellings, grammar slaughters, and half the time doesn't make any sense, but for some reason bored cubicle dwellers out there get a kick out of it!
www.kyphotographs.com is the point of presence for my photography business in Lexington, KY. I sell Lexington event and stock
Kentucky horse photos through the site.
www.lexingtonkentuckytravel.com is my first stab at a local travel site about local
Lexington Kentucky Travel targeting all the international visitors that are coming in 2010 for the FEI World Equestrian Games.
Help!
Even with the armada of sites above, I do not make enough to live. If you enjoyed any of my websites or I helped you with planning your trip, please see how you can return the favor and
help me to buy noodles. Keep your money, this is free!
