Vagabonding adventures and Travel Experiences

My first jump at 150' in Chiang Mai, Thailand

For me, life has become all about gaining experience. Every new person I meet or adventure I go on leaves a little something behind that will hopefully make me a better man. Unfortunately, my 33 year old body has also taken one heck of a beating over the years.

Just for fun, here are a few adventures that could have made this a memorial site. :)

Skydiving at 12,000 feet (and managing to have a chute malfunction which gave me a hernia!)
Stepping over a poisonous bamboo viper in Ko Samui, Thailand
Bungee jumping at 150' with a very dodgy company in Chiang Mai, Thailand
Snorkeling alone with a dozen feeding Reef sharks in Ko Tao, Thailand
Solo rock climbing (no rope) the world famous "Flatirons" in Boulder, Colorado
Coming face to face with a grizzly bear in the back country of Alaska
Swimming into a wild water cave in Laos with only a single light source
Cliff diving off the rocks in Thailand, Jamaica, and Hawaii.
Riding a motorcycle on crazy mountain roads and through a forest fire in northern Thailand
Free diving (with no air) in Ko Lanta, Thailand
Exploring a ruined Angkor temple in the Cambodian jungle alone
Nearly having a nasty scuba accident while diving in the Red Sea, Egypt
Walking over and near a blow hole in the lava fields in Maui, Hawaii
Having a brittle slate ledge collapse on me while solo climbing in Alaska

Here is a partial list of potentially fun and dangerous creatures I have encountered in the wild:

Grizzly bear (Alaska)
Kentucky Bobcat (Kentucky)
Rattlesnakes and Copperheads (Kentucky)
Green Bamboo Viper (Thailand)
Banded Sea snake (Andaman Sea)
Blacktip and Whitetip reef sharks (Andaman Sea)
12" long centipede (Cambodia)
Scorpion and Lion fish (Andaman Sea)
Pissed off rednecks with guns (all over the world)
Egyptian police officers (Egypt)
Sand fleas, bed bugs, leaches, parasites, and anything else that sucks blood!

This was just a short list for fun. Imagine if every day was Saturday and there was no housework, no TV to get lazy in front of....just pure and beautiful adventure. You can squeeze a lot of living into a year of travel!
